From staff reports STEUBENVILLE It’s time for the annual cleanups in Jefferson County hosted by the JB Green Team. According to JB Green Team officials, the cleanups are held with the invaluable assistance of the township leaders and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. The cleanups contribute to a significant decrease in illegal dumping and provide a message of environmental stewardship and personal responsibility. Community Clean-ups are held in conjunction with the annual Keep America Beautiful “Great American Clean-up.” All Jefferson County collection sites will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. These collections will be for large residential waste items and passenger tires only, no semi/farm tires. Dealer and fleet tires will not be accepted. ....

Jan 13, 2021 Our area’s economy got a boost last week when a local company announced plans for a multi-million dollar expansion. Bully Tools, which has called the Jefferson County Industrial Park home for the last 25 years, said on Jan. 5 it planned to make a $6.7 million investment that would include a 60,000-square-foot expansion, a project that officials estimate will create 30 new jobs. It’s growth that is needed to meet the demand for the firm’s line of tools. That catalog includes lawn and garden, farm, snow removal, home and other specialty long-handled tools. According to Mark Gracy, the company’s owner, Bully has seen double-digit sales growth that has averaged 14.5 percent during the past nine years. ....
Dec 15, 2020 The Christmas display at Grafton Farms, 1730 state Route 213, Steubenville, is ready for viewing from 5 p.m. until midnight now through the Twelfth Night of Christmas (Jan. 5), according to James Grafton. A train cutout, courtesy of Kurt Stuewe, has been added to the holiday decoration. “Since a number of people seemed to have fun trying to guess the number of milk jugs in the Halloween display, we have decided to do it again for Christmas,” Grafton notes on his Facebookpage post. “The winner will receive a $15 gift certificate to a local grocery store.
