Murri Carnival postponed due to COVID-19

The Carnival was originally scheduled to run in September, has been postponed.  In a statement posted to social media, the Queensland Aboriginal and Islander Health Council, a major sponsor of the Carnival, confirmed the news. We simply do not want to take the risk of out competitors, coaches and spectators coming into contact with COVID-19 at this time, or the UK strain being taken outside of the Greater Brisbane Area, QAIHC CEO James William said. This decision was made with the health of our local communities and Queensland as our priority. Whilst this is not the news we were hoping to deliver, the health and wellbeing of the community is paramount and we hope that you all stay sage, healthy and COVID-aware during this time.
