Prayagraj: Prayagraj residents will soon be travelling in battery-operated buses, as 50 e-buses are expected to ply on city roads as part of the Smart City project.
For operating these buses, authorities of Prayagraj City Transport Service Limited (PCTSL) have chalked out a detailed route map. Besides, a mega charging station is being developed near the old bridge over the Yamuna (Naini side) where 25 e-buses will be charged at a time.
This charging station is being built in an area of around 6,000 square metres at the Naini side of Yamuna.
Elaborating about the routes on which these e-buses will operate, managing director of PCTSL, TKS Bhisen, told TOI, “We have divided the entire city in five routes and each route will have 10 buses available to the commuters at an interval of half-an-hour.”
