SOUTH BEND — After a few years of planning, it appears that some long-awaited development could be headed to the Indiana Enterprise Center just east of New Carlisle.
St. Joseph County Council voted unanimously to approve a zone change for two privately owned parcels of property — totaling 114 acres — from agricultural to industrial use. The land is located on the southwest corner of Larrison Drive and Edison Road, just south of the sprawling I/N Tek complex.
Attorney Pete Agostino, who is representing one of the property owners, said a business, which could bring about 450 jobs to the area, is deciding whether to locate on the two parcels. With the zone change, the site is now ready for development as it has needed utilities nearby. ....
