West Fargo Fire Department selects EAPC Architects Engineers to Design and Construct New Headquarters

(West Fargo, ND) During the May 17th City Commission meeting, Commissioners approved an agreement with EAPC Architects Engineers to design and construct the new West Fargo Fire Departments Headquarters at 1201 10th Avenue East. The goal is to complete the Headquarters by spring 2023.
The West Fargo Fire Department received seven responses to the request for proposal for design and construction services. The proposals were reviewed by a committee to identify three finalists based on experience, design methodology, availability, local experience and ability to meet deadlines.
Finalists presented to the committee, which included Commissioner Mark Simmons, Commissioner Mandy George, Fire Chief Dan Fuller, Fire Deputy Chief of Operations Kendel Frost, City Administrator Tina Fisk and Building Inspections Administrator Mark Housh. After discussion, EAPC Architects Engineers was selected to move forward. ....

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – Fire Chief Dan Fuller says 2020 was “definitely one for the record books” for the West Fargo Fire Department.
Fuller, in his annual report, said West Fargo’s continued growth and the pandemic resulted in unexpected challenges.
The department experienced higher call volumes. In 2020, there were 2,187 calls for service. That’s a smaller-than-anticipated increase but doesn’t represent the overall call volume. Emergency medical emergency calls were down 20% during spring lockdown months but then rebounded to some of the busy months the department had ever had.
Fuller said two-thirds of the calls for emergency medical help were for those over 65 who had trauma or breathing distress. ....

2020 West Fargo Fire Report Shows Major Jump in Service Calls

(West Fargo, ND) It s a number that West Fargo fire officials haven t seen ever before in the city.
During the February 1st, City Commission meeting, Fire Chief Dan Fuller said that the department responded to 2,186 calls in 2020. Of those, the department surpassed 1,000 fire rescue and public service calls for the first time. That represents a 2.5% increase in calls from 2019 to 2020. The City Commission approved the purchase of land for a new fire headquarters to meet the critical needs of the city in late 2020.
“The new fire headquarters will greatly expand our capacity to handle multiple emergency calls in different sections of the city. This will reduce response times and improve outcomes for both medical and fire emergencies,” said Fuller. ....
