New Delhi: The Congress in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday accused the Centre of misusing the sedition law, mentioning the arrest of 22-year-old climate activist Disha Ravi by the Delhi police in the infamous ‘toolkit’ case.
The Centre was also asked if it was planning to dilute the law, in light of the observations made by a Delhi court while granting bail to Ravi.
A Delhi court on Tuesday granted bail to environmental activist Disha Ravi, asking her to furnish a bond of Rs 1 lakh. Disha Ravi was arrested by the Delhi Police in connection with the 'toolkit' case.
Disha Ravi s Brave Statements in Court Should Challenge India s Judicial Conscience
By owning up to her role in raising awareness to the farmers protest, the young activist highlighted the absurdity of the Delhi Police s claims.

This is one of the most powerful sentences spoken by an Indian in this century. Powerful, courageous and honest. Even more heartening is the fact that this comes from a 22-year-old young woman. She must have been told by her lawyers what implications the charge of sedition can have for her. Even an indication of being involved in the activities deemed seditious can jeopardise your life, if not forever then at least for a very painful, long time.
Disha Ravi Toolkit Case Latest Updates: Disha Ravi, 21, was arrested from Bengaluru on February 13. She was first sent to five-day custody, and later to three-day judicial custody which ended on Monday.
