Zanesville Middle School robotics team wins state title View Comments ZANESVILLE - The Zanesville Middle School Robotics team was recently named champions of the state competition, bringing home two additional titles in the process. The group of four eighth graders - Dhruv Patel, Karter Bludnick, Chloe Buchanan and Caiden Balsley - were given the task of building a robot at the beginning of the year that would be capable of performing specified tasks during competitions. For the state tournament, the robot needed to compete in a game tic-tac-toe that utilized a throwing motion. Patel, the team s programmer, prepared the robot to take on the task automatically, while Bludnick, the driver, took control manually and earned a perfect driving score. ....

New project to launch at Morden Hall Park A NEW project is set to launch in Merton to help boost job prospects for hundreds of young people. The Urban Ranger project will offer residents the chance to access hands-on experience of nature conservation and help maintain green spaces. Designed for young people aged between 10 to 21, the project will include activities such as creating wildlife habitats, community orchards, installing ponds and managing native woodlands. The scheme, run by staff at the National Trust s Morden Hall Park, will also allow young people to gain qualifications while boosting their mental health. It’s made possible thanks to a £130,400 grant over three years from City Bridge Trust, the City of London Corporation’s charity funder, which gives out £25 million a year to good causes across the capital. ....
