Christmas lights and displays abound in Gilmer as we spend more time at home. It’s definitely worth the drive around the courthouse square and the neighborhoods for an inspirational lift. Park Street just off N. Montgomery definitely wins the award for keeping Christ in Christmas.
Through Mrs Merle Cross’ leadership, inspiration, and encouragement, her neighbors on West Park Street have created a city-block long display of the Twelve Days of Christmas. A narrative of the 12 displays is broadcast on FM radio as you drive through.
I always thought of The Twelve Days as a children s repetitive-cumulative song. Being inspired by our drive through of Mrs Cross’ neighborhood Christmas parade, I decided to Google the 12 Days of Christmas to learn more.  ....
