DPSA on compliance roadshow in the Western Cape

NATIONAL NEWS - Public Service and Administration Director-General Yoliswa Makhasi, is on a two-day roadshow to engage with the Western Cape provincial government on matters of compliance.

According to the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA), the provincial roadshows will be a quarterly occurrence in order to assist provinces to comply with the programs and policies of the DPSA.
Makhasi is engaged on the consultation process with the Western Cape provincial government on the Public Service Act Amendment Bill and the Public Administration Management Act Amendment Bill. ....

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Monday termed the Centre’s proposal on direct payment to the farmers, bypassing the commission agent (
arhtiyas), as another provocation that will further aggravate the current crisis over the farm laws.
He said the apathetic attitude of the Central government would not help resolve the situation.
“The matter had to be resolved by the Centre and the farmers, with the Punjab government having no role to play as the farmers’ associations had rejected any political interference,” said the Chief Minister. ....

This time around the Fiji Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Commission director Ashwin Raj has broken his silence on the issue and has said that there should be an independent investigation into all issues arising out of the University of the South Pacific.
The investigations should include complaints raised by staff on the ongoing governance issues at the university, and also against the vice-chancellor Professor Pal Ahluwalia. ....

THE Senate has called on leaders across the country to come together against criminality, following activities of bandits and kidnappers, and resist the antics of divisive elements bent on instigating inter-ethnic tension across the country.
According to the Senate, it is imperative for all hands to be on deck to nip in the bud the looming anarchy and tension in the land.
Welcoming his colleagues back from Christmas and New year break, President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, who made the call, noted that insurgency, banditry, kidnapping and militancy remained serious threats to a secured and safe Nigeria. ....
