(WKBT) A 16-year-old Nelson, Wis., boy was taken to a hospital Friday morning with non-life-threatening injuries after he fell asleep at the wheel on Hwy. 35 and the pickup he was driving rolled in the Belvidere Township, according to the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies responded to a call to the scene shortly before 6 a.m. and discovered that the youth had lost control of the southbound 1992 GMC pickup, and it left the highway just south of County Road N and rolled before coming to rest in a cornfield, a sheriff’s department news release said. ....

Powell Co Search and Rescue said 24-year-old Gabriella “Gabby” Smith, of Alexandria, Ky., slipped and fell from a roughly 150-foot ledge while hiking alone near the Auxier Ridge trail area. Officials were alerted that Smith, a medical student at the University of Kentucky, might be in danger when she left for the hike Monday afternoon and did not return. Search and rescue members were able to ping Smith’s phone to get her last known location to get GPS coordinates before searching the Auxier Ridge area with the help of the Wolfe Co Search and Rescue Team and the Tri-Community Fire Department. ....
Motorcyclist Killed, 2 Others Injured In Lee Highway Crash Sunday, April 4, 2021 A motorcyclist was killed and two other people injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Lee Highway at noon on Saturday.
Police said a Chevy Avalanche was on Lee Highway south waiting to turn left onto Ooltewah Ringgold Road. A Harley Davidson was traveling north on Lee Highway in the right lane passing heavy traffic.
The Avalanche made a left turn as the motorcyclist entered the intersection and the motorcycle struck it. The motorcyclist was ejected.
The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital via Hamilton County EMS with critical, life-threatening injuries. The man, 51, later died. ....
