Travel chiefs reacted with fury tonight as ministers warned Britons not to book foreign holidays and refused to rule out extending the international travel ban into summer.

Ministers are considering changing the school year in England to keep classrooms open for longer in the summer term to help pupils recover from lockdown, it was claimed today.
Number 10 is said to be weighing up a two-week extension in the warmer months, potentially cutting into the summer holidays, with the holiday time redistributed to existing breaks in the autumn and winter.
One of the attractions for ministers of extending the summer term is that the weather would likely allow windows and doors to be kept open in school buildings to improve ventilation and reduce the risk of coronavirus spreading. ....

What are the extra charges and paperwork and why were they introduced?
Shipping goods either way across the UK-EU border now takes longer and is more expensive since the UK left the EU s Customs Union and Single Market.

Number 10 has insisted all areas have had equal access to the coronavirus vaccine amid mounting anger over a jabs postcode lottery .
The Prime Minister s spokesman dug his heels in on the claims today, saying ministers had ensured everywhere received the same supplies.
Matt Hancock yesterday revealed some regions were lagging behind schedule in the rollout to over-80s despite No10 announcing the scheme was being expanded to all over-70s and adults with underlying conditions.
But the Health Secretary hinted supplies have not been equally distributed, as he claimed they were being diverted to areas which were way off target. ....
