FARGO – Grand Forks Red River is heading to their fourth straight Class A girls basketball state tournament after defeating West Fargo Sheyenne 63-54 on Saturday morning.
Alex Page scored a game-high 22 points and grabbed 4 rebounds for the Roughriders inside the Scheels Center.
Jadyn Fiest paced West Fargo Sheyenne with 15 points and 8 rebounds.
Grand Forks Red River (20-4 overall) will enter the state tournament as the No. 3 seed from EDC and play in the 2:30 p.m. game on Friday afternoon in the quarterfinals from the Bismarck Events Center.
West Fargo Sheyenne finishes the season 13-12 overall.

FARGO – Devils Lake senior Ramsey Brown surpassed 1,000 career points and the Firebirds edged out West Fargo 76-64 in a state qualifier on Saturday afternoon from the Scheels Center.
The Firebirds (17-3 overall) advanced to their fifth straight state tournament and will play at 5 p.m. in the quarterfinals on Friday from the Bismarck Events Center.
Brown tailed 16 points in the win and teammate Jailyn Martinson added 23 points and 7 rebounds for Devils Lake.
Miriley Simon paced West Fargo with 18 points and 9 rebounds. The Packers finish the season 15-8 overall.
WEST FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – West Fargo used an 11-0 between the end of the first half and into the second half, plus a stifling defense in the second half to pull out a 67-43 win over Valley City in the Eastern Dakota Conference girls basketball tournament loser out game.
The Hi-Liners got off to a good start, leading the home team Packers 10-4 early. The first half saw two ties and five lead changes before the Packers scored the last six points of the half for a 27-23 lead.
The Packers would start the second half on an 8-2 run to open up a ten point lead, 35-25. The Hi-Liners would keep it between that eight and 12 point margin for most of the second half until West Fargo slowly but surely pulled away for the 24 point win.

FARGO, N.D. – The 23
rd-ranked South Dakota State Jackrabbits pulled away in the fourth quarter Saturday night, as the Jackrabbits beat North Dakota State 69-60 at the Scheels Center. The game was played before a crowd of 1,955, the largest for an NDSU women’s basketball game since 2016.
NDSU dropped to 14-6 overall and 9-5 in Summit League play, while the Jackrabbits improved to 19-2 overall and 12-0 in league play. The victory claimed at least a share of the Summit League title and the number one seed in the Summit League Tournament for the Jackrabbits. NDSU returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 27 at South Dakota. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. in Vermillion.
