How do you think about career progression when your boss is you?

When you work for yourself, you re responsible for everything to do with your job, including any plans for career progression.
So what does that look like, and how can you put yourself in the best position to succeed?
First of all, it s about figuring out what success actually looks like, says Monica Davidson, author of the Australian edition of Freelancing for Dummies, who s been working for herself for 34 years. The answer that I give about progression is quite existential, and that is to think really carefully about what you want, she says.
