Prior to it being scheduled to open at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center this weekend, I had never heard of âThe World to Come.â The film, which tells the story of neighboring married couples living in the harsh landscapes of the United States in the 19th century, had completely flown under my radar. I hadnât seen a trailer, and I donât recall the film ever coming up in any conversations. With the lack of conversation surrounding the film, I assumed the film must not provide much to talk about.  Now, having seen the film, I can say my assumption was wrong. The film does have a very interesting â and occasionally depressing â story that manages to have a significant emotional impact on the viewer. âThe World to Comeâ is a little meandering and unfocused at times, but the overall experience is still something worth discussing. ....
