Two men armed with a shotgun and an axe have stolen diamonds, a watch, and jewellery valued at $NZ150,000–$180,000 during a daylight robbery of an Auckland store.
The suspects entered TJ Handcrafted in Auckland’s Botany Town Centre on Sunday 10 January at about 2pm, and held the store’s owner, identified as T Jordan, at gunpoint.

Man arrested following armed robbery of Auckland jewellery store

CCTV footage of the alleged incident at TJ Handcrafted in Botany Town Centre shows a man with a shotgun entering the store.
A man has been arrested following the aggravated robbery of a jewellery shop in east Auckland.
The store owner, T Jordan, who did not want to be fully named, said he was alone in the shop when two men wearing face masks entered and held him at gunpoint.
The 41-year-old arrested man appeared at Manukau District Court, in south Auckland, on January 16, facing charges of aggravated robbery with firearm and aggravated assault, police said.

This is the moment an Auckland jewellery merchant and dealer came face to face with two armed men.
T Jordan was in his Botany Town Centre store TJ Handcrafted on Sunday afternoon when two men dressed in black casually walked in.
They were both armed with firearms, Jordan claims.

TJ Handcrafted jewellers in Botany has closed business for the day after an armed robbery on Thursday afternoon.
Her concerns were shared by the owner of a nearby cafe, whose two staff members witnessed Sunday’s armed robbery and are on leave recovering from the shock of the incident.
“A customer ran into our kitchen to hide and told us there was an armed robbery outside,” the owner said. ....
