A total of 2,700 English culture and heritage venues will share the latest round of the Culture Recovery Fund. Canterbury Cathedral has the biggest grant with £2m, while the Serpentine Galleries in London has been awarded £1.9m and Camden Roundhouse has £1.5m. West End chain Nimax Theatres and Glastonbury will receive £900,000 each. Festival organisers Emily and Michael Eavis said the money would make a huge difference in helping to secure our future . GAMBIER More than 120 student-workers at Kenyon College picketed and marched across their college s picturesque campus here Tuesday during what organizers claim is the first known undergraduate student-labor strike in the country. A majority of Kenyon College student workers at five on-campus workplaces last week voted in favor of an unfair labor practices strike for what they say is dissatisfaction with the college s student-work program during the pandemic. The Kenyon Student Worker Organizing Committee, also known as K-SWOC, approved the strike Thursday because of a refusal by Kenyon s administration and the Board of Trustees’ to recognize the newly formed union. Student-workers at the college s library, the student-run Kenyon Farm, the Kenyon College Greenhouse, the Wright Center (studios and production space for film students) and lifeguards at its sports facility say that the university exploits student labor and has implemented unfair work poli ....
