A Lincoln resident has been out cleaning in the Arboretum after large amounts of litter were left there by people gathering at the park to enjoy the weather. The warm weather on Tuesday and Wednesday came in time for the latest lifting of lockdown restrictions, which allowed for up to six people to meet outdoors. The group had rented properties on Euston Close, Grafton Street, Drake Street and Monks Road in Lincoln to grow cannabis inside, as well as one on Lambeth Road in Middlesbrough, between November 2017 and 2019. These cannabis grows were recovered by police, and the plants amounted to a street value of almost £1 million. ....

The southern part of the site contains Bridge 234 which previously carried an unsurfaced track over the Midland & Great Northern Joint Railway Bourne-Saxby line. It is proposed this be demolished by developers due to it not being “structurally safe”. Two petitions have been received, one with 907 signatures which seeks to preserve Bridge 234 and the second with 828 signatories who want to preserve the whole site as an unspoilt space. ....
