A SOUTHAMPTON road closed for almost a month following a hit and run incident is due to reopen today. Southampton City Council announced this morning at Woodmill Lane in Southampton is due to reopen at 10am today. The council originally said the road is due to reopen on Monday, June 7, however they announced in a Tweet that the road should open today as repairs to the building have been completed. Work has been underway this week to repair the former mill building on Woodmill Bridge. A Nissan Micra ploughed into the side of the historic building during a crash early in May.

The route has been blocked off in both directions as work has been done to remove debris and then patch up the building. According to the council, if this repair work proceeds without issues, Woodmill Lane is expected to reopen on Monday, June 7.

Police have launched an investigation after a car crashed in Woodmill Lane, Southampton THREE “young men” have sparked a manhunt after the car they were in smashed into an iconic Southampton building. The trio were spotted fleeing from a silver Nissan Micra after it ploughed into a business off Woodmill Lane. Emergency services raced to the historic building shortly after 1.30pm on Tuesday. A roadblock was set up and engineers worked to make sure the old mill building was structurally secure.
Woodmill Lane has been closed following a crash. A crew from St Mary’s Fire Station was also on the scene to ensure the area was safe.
