Anderson opening city owned facilities on a limited basis

ANDERSON  After being closed for approximately one year because of the coronavirus pandemic, employees of the City of Anderson are returning to the city building.
There will be limited access to the public at all city-owned facilities starting on April 12.
Anderson Mayor Thomas Broderick Jr. announced Monday a cautious modified opening of city-owned facilities for employees and the public.
Broderick is urging all city employees to receive the coronavirus vaccination.
Employees that voluntarily choose not to be vaccinated will not be granted paid time off and will be required to use sick and vacation time for work missed because of the coronavirus. ....

Anderson police to provide security for county's new vaccine site

Feb. 23—ANDERSON — The Madison County Health Department will open a new location Tuesday to administer the coronavirus vaccine. The Anderson Board of Public Safety on Monday approved an agreement for city police to provide security at the Work One Building, 222 E. 10th St. Jake Brown, chief of the Anderson Police Department, said the officers providing the security are signing up for voluntary . ....

Indiana Mayors Among Hundreds to Sign Letter in Support of Biden’s COVID-19 Relief Plan
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – More than 400 mayors have now signed a letter asking lawmakers to pass President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 relief plan, including six Indiana mayors.
Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett, Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard, Anderson Mayor Thomas Broderick, Jr., Gary Mayor Jerome Prince, New Albany Mayor Jeff Gahan, and Fort Wayne Mayor Thomas Henry are among the nine pages of signatures in the letter.
It begins by addressing Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy and Republican Leader Mitch McConnell and reads in part “Biden’s American rescue plan contains such assistance as part of an aggressive strategy to contain the virus, increase access to life-saving vaccines and create a foundation for sustainable and inclusive recovery.” ....
