A senior Today Show producer accused of raping a very highly intoxicated and vulnerable woman in his house has been warned to keep away from cocaine - as police reveal their case will rely on forensic evidence and text exchanges with the alleged victim.
Thomas Joseph Nicol, 32, the suspended supervising producer of Nine s breakfast TV show, appeared in Waverley Local Court in Sydney s east on Tuesday.
The Bondi man has vehemently denied a charge of sexual intercourse without consent over an alleged incident with a woman between 8.30pm on January 29 and 6.30am the next day.
Nicol has been stood down from his top role at at the network indefinitely while the court case unfolds, with further details emerging about the police case during a hearing into changing his bail conditions.
