The 90 minute doco directed by Thomas Risch covers the exploration of the shipwreck from its discovery in 1985 up to the present day. It features contributions from Titanic director James Cameron,. The project is part of the Global Doc 2019 initiative, which aims to bring together networks and producers to make large-scale documentaries. It debuted on France TV in December. Titanic: Into the Heart of the Wreck. The film is directed by Thomas Risch, produced by French prodco Bleu Kobalt and was commissioned by France Telévisions. Broadcasters on board the film about the ill-fated ship include France Telévisions, ZDF, Channel 4 and History Channel in the U.S. A story that continues to fascinate generations, there have been several factual and fictional retellings of the tragic maiden voyage of the Titanic. This time around the filmmakers are taking a deep dive into the underwater Titanic expeditions as revealed by the world-leading explorers of the wreck, including filmmaker James Cameron and oceanographer Paul- Henry Nargeolet (RMS Titanic, Inc.), where they relive their journey from the Titanic’s discovery in 1985 until today. The doc also uses 3D animation to explore the wreck’s continuing deterioration from iron eating bacteria. ....
