March 8, 2021 09:41 AM Streaming and distribution company Audiomack, is continuing on their streak of supporting Jamaican talent with their newly launched ‘Sounds of Jamaica’ campaign. This campaign is a series of playlists curated by local DJs across the 14 parishes. “Since we’re a discovery platform we wanted DJs from various parts of Jamaica to highlight artists from that area,” Tanya Lawson, Director of Afrobeats and Caribbean at Audiomack said. “We’re going to be pushing the playlists periodically throughout our platform and it will run from now until’ June. The DJs with the most plays, we’re going to do something special for them and their community!” ....
Buju Banton Giving back to artistes and their communities is a cornerstone of music sharing and discovery platform Audiomack s true ideals. This led the streaming and music distribution company to the Buju Banton Foundation to offer hope to economically challenged youth in Jamaica. To that end, Audiomack has donated US$5k to Banton s humanitarian efforts, which includes providing instruments and sporting equipment. Despite recent hiccups, the BBF intends to deliver its mandate to provide for the underserved communities locally. Such underserved communities include the Sunbeam Children s Home, Mount Olivet Boys Home, and Denham Town High School, that have all benefitted from the efforts of Audiomack. ....
A Bell County judge on Wednesday reduced the bond for a Killeen man accused of taking a vehicle with two children inside last year. Prior to the remote hearing in the 27th Judicial District Court, Christopher Thomas Jr., 26, had bonds totaling $175,000, on charges of kidnapping, a third-degree felony, and unauthorized use of a vehicle, a state jail felony. After hearing testimony and arguments from the attorneys, Judge John Gauntt reduced Thomas Jr.âs bonds to $25,000 on the kidnapping charge, and $10,000 on the unauthorized use of a vehicle charge. Thomas was still listed in the Bell County Jail on Friday. He was booked into jail on Dec. 10, and he has not been indicted on either charge. ....
