Image courtesy of Google Maps Permanent double yellows are to be introduced to tackle ‘continuing and obstructive’ parking problems on a Saddleworth road near a popular ice cream parlour. Oldham council has agreed to bring in waiting restrictions to stop people parking on Ward Lane in Diggle. Currently, roadside parking prevents residents accessing their homes and forces people to walk in the middle of the road ‘with small children’, according to the authority. The narrow road is home to the award winning ice cream parlour and cafe Grandpa Greene’s which sits alongside the canal. There is also an allotment area and Diggle Chippy at the end of the road towards Huddersfield Road which generate ‘on street parking’. ....
