Accused of murder, Lambert may not stand trial until next year Mineral Daily News-Tribune KEYSER - Augusta resident Jimmy Lee Lambert, charged in connection with the deaths of two Burlington area residents on Nov. 18, 2019, will not stand trial until February or March of 2022, according to Mineral County prosecuting attorney Cody Pancake. Lambert, of 1098 Delray Road, Augusta, is charged with two counts of murder, two counts of using or presenting a firearm during the commission of a felony, malicious wounding, being a person prohibited from possessing a firearm, and conspiracy. The charges are in connection with the deaths of Donald L. Rutter, 32, and Destiny Foster, 25, at Rutter’s residence on Maple Hollow Lane, just off U.S. Route 50 near Burlington. ....
Fireworks company would like to put more bang in Keyser s Fourth of July Mineral Daily News-Tribune Tribune Managing Editor KEYSER - A fireworks company would like to help Keyser put a little more bang into its annual Fourth of July celebration in exchange for a little storage space on city property. Tim Evans, representing the Starfire Corporation, has asked the Keyser City Council if the company could place a storage container on city property off Waxler Road to help make shipping and distribution easier when they provide fireworks for Keyser and a number of surrounding municipalities. “We’re looking for a place locally to store a magazine - basically a shipping container,” he said. “This allows us to reduce shipping costs and ease the logistics on our busiest shipping days.” ....
UPDATE: Fire marshal investigating Hooker Hollow fire Mineral Daily News-Tribune NEW CREEK - The West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of a blaze that heavily damaged a Hooker Hollow Road residence early Wednesday morning. One person was injured during the fire and taken to WVU Medicine Potomac Valley Hospital for treatment, while another person, who was also injured and to be transported to PVH, got into an altercation with two Mineral County Sheriff’s Deputies and died at the scene from a gunshot wound. According to a spokesperson for the New Creek Volunteer Fire Department, they were alerted to the fire at 1316 Hooker Hollow Road at 6:21 a.m., and arrived on the scene to find a one-story single family dwelling with fire evident on the first floor and basement. ....
