As of present, may mga target areas pa lang tayo (we already have target areas) for the repopulation or recovery. However, as of now, wala pa po tayong (we do not have) areas declared as ASF free, DA-Davao ASF focal person Armie Capuyan said in a virtual presser. As of July 13, Capuyan said a total of 49,315 pigs were already depopulated since the first case was recorded in the region in late January 2020. A total of 10, 652 farmers coming from 43 municipalities and 235 barangays were affected by forcibly culling their hogs to curb the spread of the hog disease. ....

Published May 23, 2021 10:44am A magnitude 5.5 earthquake struck Davao Occidental on Sunday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said. The quake was recorded at 10:02 a.m. Its epicenter was located at 4.88N, 127.50E - 235 km S 61° E of Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental. The quake’s depth was 113 kilometers and it was tectonic in origin. PHIVOLCS said no damage is expected but aftershocks may occur. On Saturday morning, a magnitude 5.2 earthquake also hit Davao Occidental. Its epicenter was located at 06.00°N, 126.27°E - 067 km S 71° E of Don Marcelino. KG, GMA News ....
5.2-magnitude earthquake hits southern Philippines Xinhua 22 May 2021, 11:30 GMT+10 MANILA, May 22 (Xinhua) An offshore earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.2 struck Davao Occidental province in the southern Philippines on Saturday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said. The institute said the offshore quake, which struck at 7:56 a.m. local time, hit at a depth of 47 km, about 67 km southeast of Don Marcelino town on Mindanao island. The institute said the quake, which was tectonic in origin, can trigger aftershocks but not cause damage. The Philippines has frequent seismic activities due to its location along the quake-prone Pacific Ring of Fire. ....
