Brandon Watson and Rosalie Currier Sturgis Journal Residents in Constantine were having a normal Wednesday evening, with Little League games concluding at the ballpark at Meadow Lane and South Washington Street, when shots were fired. A man was shot while spectators and players were still at the park. When officers arrived, they found a man with multiple gunshot injuries, conscious and alert. The shooter had fled, said Mark Honeysett, Constantine chief of police. The victim, a 38-year-old from Cassopolis, was treated at the scene, then airlifted to Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Ind., where he underwent surgery, Honeysett said. The incident did not involve or target anyone else at the gathering, Honeysett said. However, the area went into immediate lockdown. ....
Apr 1, 2021 Jerry Lynn McGee, age 77, peacefully passed away in Orlando, Florida on March 31, 2021 surrounded by family. Jerry, the son of Alva Theron and Verna McGee, grew up in New Lexington, Ohio, and attended The Ohio State University on a golf scholarship. McGee’s professional career began in 1966 when he qualified for the PGA Tour where he won four tournaments and was a proud member of the 1977 United States Ryder Cup Team. He joined the PGA Tour Champions upon turning 50 in 1993 and played through 2005. Jerry and his wife Jill resided in East Palestine, Ohio, for 47 years before moving to Orlando a few weeks ago to be with their children and grandchildren. ....
