By Don Crouthamel In Pennsylvania, Republicans are attempting to do away with mail-in voting, which made it possible for many Pennsylvanians to vote safely in the past election. In Georgia, Republicans are attempting to limit mail-in voting and to reduce the number of locations for early voting. I suppose we should not be surprised. In only one of the past eight presidential elections have Republicans won a majority of the popular vote. Apparently, the Republican Party has realized that, as the number of Americans casting votes goes up, their chances of winning goes down. Their response has very clearly been to wage an all-out campaign of voter suppression. The danger to our democracy is also very clear. How long will it be before Republican-controlled legislatures across the country attempt to write and pass legislation that will allow them to appoint Republican electors directly? ....
