Sebastopol Names New Police Chief

Sebastopol has finally named a new chief of police. Kevin Kilgore, who most recently was a lieutenant with the UCLA Police Department, was named Chief of Police for Sebastopol on Tuesday. This ends the prolonged search for a permanent chief since the retirement of Chief James Conner in December of 2019. Kilgore has 24 years of law enforcement under his belt, having also served at departments in Southwestern Ohio and UC Santa Barbara. Sebastopol had originally chosen Daniel Healy of Suisun City to become chief of police but he backed out just a couple weeks before he was to take over in December of 2020. Kilgore will be officially sworn in on March 1st taking over for interim chief Don Mort. ....
