Food distribution taking place in Acadia Parish on Friday April 9 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm KATC News and last updated 2021-04-05 11:01:33-04 Faith Missionary Baptist Church along with Second Harvest Food Bank will host a Food Distribution Drive for All Acadia Parish on April 9. The distribution will take place on Friday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the pavilion on the Frog Festival Grounds in Rayne. Social distancing will be enforced during the event and those who attend will be asked to remain in their vehicles. Food boxes will be placed in trunks of cars. If boxes need to be placed on the rear seats, organizers ask that all passengers in the vehicle wear face masks. ....

In a statement from the Rayne Chamber of Commerce, the board of directors made the decision to cancel due to COVID-19 Guidelines in place. Next year s Frog Festival is in the works. The chamber says the 2022 event will be their 50th Anniversary celebration. They expect to be back bigger and better than ever they say. See their full statement below: It is with a heavy heart that the Rayne Chamber of Commerce board of directors has made the decision to cancel the 2021 Frog Festival. It is our goal to produce stellar events within our community and to be respectful to the Covid-19 guidelines as well as our generous sponsors.
