Jackson County Central senior is Minnesota FFA Star in Agribusiness

(Special to The Globe) JACKSON Not only is Mackenzie Henning one of Minnesota FFA’s newest shining stars, she’s the second generation member of her family to earn one of the state’s highest honors in the organization. During virtual ceremonies last week, the Jackson County Central senior and president of its FFA chapter earned the Minnesota FFA Star in Agribusiness. The honor came 26 years after her dad, Brad, was honored as Minnesota FFA’s Star Farmer.

Highmore FFA wins State FFA Parliamentary Procedure, Conduct of FFA Meeting Leadership Development Events

Pierre, SD, USA / DRGNews Dec 28, 2020 7:35 AM South Dakota FFA’s annual State Leadership Development Events continued this year in a new format, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Last week, FFA members competed in and were recognized for their success in Marketing Plan, Conduct of Chapter Meetings, and Parliamentary Procedure; and the All-State Parliamentary Procedure team was announced during a special live Zoom awards. South Dakota FFA members from across the state traded an in-person State Leadership Development Event, in Pierre, for virtual events throughout December and January. Members qualified through district competitions, advancing the top two teams and top three individuals from each of the seven FFA districts in South Dakota.

Members of the Frost FFA Chapter competed in Texas FFA’s State Leadership Career Development Events competition virtually Dec. 1 through 5. More than 5,000 entries began the statewide-tournament in 13 different events, which reflect classroom instruction in basic leadership skills. In October 2020, after reviewing data submitted by advisors and a lengthy discussion, the Texas FFA Association Board of Directors voted to transition the 2020 State Leadership Development Event contest to a live virtual format.
