Rockport Select Board gets organized Share Rockport Select Board members reappointed town officials and committee members in what was mostly an organizational meeting June 28. Appointments are done annually for 18 town officials. These include Linda Greenlaw who is town clerk, tax collector, deputy treasurer and assistant general assistance administrator; Megan Brackett, finance director; Michael Young, public works director and Scott Bickford, code enforcement officer and local plumbing inspector. Bickford was also reappointed as health officer, where approval is done every three years. A total of 18 people were reappointed to three-year terms on the Planning Board and Capital Improvement, Cemetery, Harbor, Investment, Opera House, Ordinance Review, Parks and Pathways committees. John Viehmen, who is in his ninth year on the Planning Board, was willing to serve a one-year extension to his term and was appointed, according to Select Board Chairwoman Michelle Hann ....

(File photo by Chris Wolf) ROCKPORT Rockport police are investigating the recent theft of four tires and wheels stolen from a pickup truck while it was parked in a commercial parking lot on Route 1 (Commercial Street), in Glen Cove. The theft occurred at the former Walker’s Restaurant parking lot sometime later on Sunday, March 7, or during the early morning hours of the following day, according to Detective Sgt.
