Posted: Tue 20th Apr 2021 Plea for people to be respectful while visiting Wrexham Crematorium after reports of a wild bird being killed Wrexham Council have issued a plea for visitors to the Pentrebychan Crematorium to be respectful of the area after reports of a “small minority who are taking advantage of the peaceful surroundings”. The local authority say there have been been reports of a wild bird being killed at the site – along with complaints about inappropriate language from visitors. The crematorium handles over 1700 cremations per year and many people return to visit the final resting place of their loved ones to mark occasions. They use the visit as a time of reflection and memorial and appreciate the surrounding grounds. ....
Enviva and MOL to develop sail-powered bulk carrier to cut GHG emissions in biomass supply chain; Wind Challenger hard sail Enviva, a global renewable energy company specializing in sustainable wood bioenergy, and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), a leading global marine transport group, signed a memorandum of understanding agreement to develop and to deploy an environmentally friendly bulk carrier. The goal of the agreement is to reduce the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the ocean transportation of sustainable wood pellets. In the initial stage, the partnership will explore the environmental benefits, commercial and operational feasibilities of various technologies. This will include the “Wind Challenger”, a cargo ship design with a hard sail, which would reduce emissions by harnessing wind energy. ....

And have nothing but praise for the NHS staff, Armed Forces personnel and volunteers who are giving such a fantastic service. They deserve an enormous amount of thanks from us all. For that reason too, I warmly welcome the news that the UK Government will be providing an extra £400 million in funding for the NHS in Wales - as a result of the announcement by the Health and Social Care Secretary, Matt Hancock, of a further £7 billion for NHS and social care services across the UK. As this funding will come through the Barnett Formula, it will be up to the Welsh Government to decide how to spend it. So, I truly hope the funding is used to benefit Welsh NHS services which need it most, including here in North Wales. ....
