Mehta launches e-Kuber payments system in J&K
RBI’s payment system to replace existing government payment systems
JAMMU: Financial Commissioner Finance, Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, formally rolled out e-Kuber payments system of Reserve Bank of India for Jammu and Kashmir here today.
General Manager RBI Jammu, Sandeep Mittal and Director General Accounts and Treasuries, Finance Department, Mahesh Dass were present on the occasion.
The new payment system of RBI will replace the existing system for the purpose of government payments. All types of government payments including employee’s salaries and pensioner’s pensions would be done through RBI’s e-Kuber. ....

4.26 lakh pilgrims had darshan through Vaikunta Dwaram

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Executive Officer K.S. Jawahar Reddy has said that 4.26 lakh pilgrims were provided darshan through the ‘Vaikunta Dwaram’ for 10 days by duly following COVID-19 protocol.
Speaking after unfurling the tricolour at the Republic Day celebrations here on Tuesday, he said the decision to keep the much-revered threshold open for 10 days for the first time ever was taken after consulting 26 Peethadipathis and implemented during December 25 to January 3.
“The TTD could successfully overcome COVID crisis and the lockdown with team effort from the strong workforce. The ‘nitya kainkaryams’ were performed by the dedicated religious staff in ekantam (in private) without any deviation of the Agamic rules, under the supervision of Tirumala Jeeyangar Swamijis. The institution won accolades for this team effort,” Dr. Reddy observed. ....

Executive Director of the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) and Chief Accounts Officer, Pension and Audit, K.M. Sreekumar, who is facing inquiry in connection with the ‘missing’ of ₹100 crore in the State transport undertaking, has been transferred to the KSRTC Central Zone based in Ernakulam.
Chairman and Managing Director, KSRTC, Biju Prabhakar said on Saturday that orders had been issued and Mr. Sreekumar would look after the Central Zone administration.
District Transport Officer, Ernakulam, V.M. Tajudeen who is currently in charge of the service operations in the Central Zone will continue to assume the additional responsibility. ....
