The Winnebago City Council did not stop to dilly-dally at a meeting held Tuesday evening, July 13, at 7 p.m. The council resumed discussion regarding the installation of stop signs around town. Though the council had originally decided to increase signage during their meeting on June 8, they backtracked on Tuesday due to feedback provided by Police Chief Eric Olson. ....

By Casey Nelson Apr 21, 2021 4:11 PM NEENAH, WI (WTAQ) – Neenah Police say they have a track on who stabbed 22-year-old Rodger Ridgeway six times in the chest along Martens Street on Saturday night. “Over the past four days, our investigators have worked tirelessly and extremely hard to bring the suspect – and suspects – to justice,” said Chief Aaron Olson. Police identified 26-year-old Mandel Roy and 28-year-old Terran Colwell of Minneapolis, Minnesota as suspects in the case. Roy has already been taken into custody. But Chief Olson says the suspects aren’t the only people they’re looking to speak with regarding this case. ....
Saturday, January 2, 2021 - 4:18 pm MASSENA A Massena Police Department sergeant has been promoted to lieutenant. The village board voted on Tuesday, Dec. 15 to promote Sgt. Cody Wilson to lieutenant. Chief Jason Olson had previously said the position is a working lieutenant, meaning Wilson will conduct investigations along with other duties that come with the position. Acting Mayor Matt Lebire said he supports filling the lieutenant position, which had been left vacant to save money in response to anticipated shortfalls in sales tax revenue and state aid caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. We ve talked several times about this. we did keep this vacant for a bit for cost-saving measures. This is one area that we cannot cut wisely. It s too much of an issue the community is facing. We need to provide the appropriate funding and resources, Lebire said. ....
