Makran [Pakistan], July 30 (ANI): Thousands of people took to the streets in protest against the frequent power cuts in Kech, Gwadar and Panjgur districts in Balochistan province of Pakistan.
Protesters, carrying placards and banners inscribed with their demands, marched on various streets of Turbat and chanted slogans against the government, Dawn reported.
All the three districts are facing 16 to 18 hours of power suspension on a daily basis amid temperatures ranging between 51 and 52 degrees Centigrade.
The residents of Absar area also staged rallies. The protesters staged a sit-in in front of the offices of the Makran commissioner, the deputy commissioner and Qesco. They called for an immediate end to the power supply problem, Dawn reported. ....

GWADAR: Thousands of people took to the streets in Turbat, the divisional headquarters of Makran division, on Wednesday to protest against frequent and prolonged power outages in all the three districts of Kech, Gwadar and Panjgur.
The participants, carrying placards and banners inscribed with their demands, marched on various streets and chanted slogans against the government and Qesco officials.

QUETTA: The opposition members in the Balochistan Assembly on Friday threatened that they would go on a hunger strike.
They alleged that the government had adopted a rigid attitude towards the opposition members and imposed a ban on media personnel from entering the police station for converge of their protest. They said the government had not withdrawn the FIR lodged against them.
The journalists who went for coverage of the press conference of the opposition parties were stopped by police at a check-post on Zarghoon Road and told that they were not allowed enter the police station. ....

QUETTA: Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission Dr Jahanzeb Khan and Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani on Monday agreed to improve partnership between the federal government and Balochistan on development projects.
Official sources said that during a meeting, they discussed issues related to agriculture, livestock, mines & minerals, water, private investment and food security.
The meeting also discussed measures taken by the government for socio-economic development, Sustainable Development Goals, Universal Health Card, the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) Automation System and the Budget 2021-22.
