How will the Samoan constitutional crisis end?

Samoa found itself in a constitutional crisis this week when the caretaker HRPP government locked the doors to parliament in an attempt to stop prime minister-elect Fiame Naomi Mata'afa being sworn in to office following her FAST party's one-seat election win. The island nation now finds itself in the position of having two governments claiming a mandate to rule, and the UN is urging the party leaders to find a solution through discussion. Samoa s general election is going down to the wire after preliminary voting results over the weekend resulted in a dead heat.
Samoa s election results have remained deadlocked, causing people in the island nation and its diaspora communities to nervously wait until they can find out who will become Samoa’s prime minister.
Current Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi​ is Samoa’s longest serving leader and has been head of the Human Rights Protection Party (HRPP) since 1998.
But if things do not tip in HRPP’s favour, Samoa could see itself with its first woman prime minister, Fiame Naomi Mata afa – leader of newcomer party, Fa’atuatua i Le Atua Samoa ua Tasi​ and someone who spent her formative years in Wellington. ....

It’s very liberating. I haven’t felt this excited about politics for a long time,” says Samoa’s former Deputy Prime Minister, and now independent member, Fiame Naomi Mata’afa.
In September, Fiame resigned from government and ended her affiliation with the ruling Human Rights Protection Party (HRPP) over three controversial bills that would set up an autonomous Samoan Land and Titles Court. It means she will contest the April 2021 election with another party for the first time in her political career.
The bills at the heart of her decision have fomented political turmoil in Samoa all year. The Judicature Bill 2020, Lands and Titles Bill 2020 and the Constitutional Amendment Bill 2020  would together create an autonomous Land and Titles Court (LTC) which would operate in parallel to the existing criminal and civil courts, and ....
