(Bernama pic) PUTRAJAYA: Fasting has not deterred Muslims from taking their Covid-19 vaccination with most saying it has not affected their fitness nor has it made them any weaker. For Brickfields district police headquarters chief (management division) Mohd Dzaiful Azrin Yahya, getting the Covid-19 vaccine shot while fasting has not made any difference to his fitness level. Mohd Dzaiful, who received his first Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine dose yesterday at the Public Vaccination Centre (PPV) at Dewan Seroja in Precinct 15 here, said he felt normal and did not experience any side effect after receiving the shot.

Nicky gang: Johor cops wants personnel in cahoots to be charged in court

Bernama JOHOR BAHRU: The Johor police will not hand over the list of names of officers and personnel found to be in cahoots with the Nicky Gang, to the Bukit Aman Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (JIPS). Instead, Johor police chief Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay (pix) said they would be brought to court for their involvement in organised crime activities. He also did not rule out the possibility of the involvement of more police personnel in the organised crime syndicate believed to be led by fugitive businessman, Datuk Seri Nicky Liow Soon Hee. Ayob said 24 enforcement personnel had been previously detained under Op Benteng and charged in court for their involvement in organised crimes.

Cops to get over 2,000 bodycams by September

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador ( pic) said the body cameras would be distributed to seven departments within PDRM. “We expect the men and women in the police force will be able to use the body cameras by September or November this year. “The police, through the Home Ministry, are in the final stages of procuring the body cameras as we have entered the tender phase, ” he told The Star yesterday. Abdul Hamid said of the 2,040 body cameras, 800 would be distributed to the Crime Prevention and Community Safety department (JPJKK); 380 to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID); 200 to the Narcotic Crime Investigation Department (NCID); 60 to the Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID); 550 to the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement department (JSPT) and 50 to the Internal Security and Public Order Department (KDNKA) and the Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (JIPS).
