IPOH, March 12 Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador today confirmed that an officer from the Penang Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) had indeed released the suspects involved in a Macau Scam.
“Investigations by Bukit Aman Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (JIPS) found there was such an offence. We are taking drastic action because this is clearly a betrayal of the trust placed on him,” he told reporters after attending the conferment of the pilot wing and the closing of the private pilot’s licence (PPL) course at the Police Air Wing Unit Training Base here today.

PETALING JAYA: The Women, Family and Community Development Minister has condemned the recent sexual harassment incidents involving women stopped by policemen at roadblocks.
Datuk Seri Rina Harun urged the police to take this matter seriously.
“Such horrendous acts will not be taken lightly, especially as they involve members of an enforcement agency.
“I urge the police to investigate so that the victims are given the appropriate defence and the perpetrators prosecuted, if found guilty.
KUALA LUMPUR: The police personnel involved in the alleged sexual harassment incidents at two roadblocks have been identified.
“Our immediate action is to withdraw the personnel involved from any roadblock duty pending an investigation, ” said Bukit Aman Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (JIPS) director Comm Datuk Zamri Yahya.
“We have recorded their statements and we will investigate the matter in a transparent and thorough manner, ” he said yesterday.
Police have also recorded the statements of the two women who made the allegations, he added.
“We want to get a clearer picture of what occurred, ” he said, adding that police were seeking more evidence as well.
