Studies have shown the pandemic has disproportionately affected women. As the world is now pushing toward recovery, so are some of the women who were hardest hit.
With that, one Lafayette woman found herself in one of the toughest situations in her life in quarantine. She has taken control of her life again. It was a creative awakening for me., says Taylor Curry.
She says she used quarantine as her time of evolution. The pandemic led me on a path and a new journey that I always wanted to do but I was a full time paralegal and single mom to my son.
COVID-19 restrictions have posed a number of challenges for restaurants and now, some fear that fighting chance is being diminished by a new era of issues.

NEW YORK (WKBW) â New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the state is offering $800 million in COVID-19 pandemic small business recovery grants.
The state is offering up to $50,000 to businesses who faced COVID-19 related hardships between March 1, 2020 and April 1, 2021.
The governor s office says the grants will be awarded to small and micro businesses and small for-profit independent arts and cultural organizations, with priority being given to socially and economically disadvantaged business owners, including minority- and women-owned business enterprises, service-disabled veteran-owned businesses and veteran-owned businesses, and businesses located in economically distressed communities.
