JOHOR BARU, Jan 26 An alleged drug syndicate head, his girlfriend and three other men were charged at the Magistrate’s Court here today for drug-trafficking activities that saw the seizure of more than RM340 million in narcotics by the Johor police earlier this month.
The accused, Goh Chee Kuang, 44, Lee Chia Hui, 33, Lye Chang Pung, 39, Lye Chang Lim, 35, and Bally Paw Shaw Kiat, 38, face 18 charges together. ....

Five charged with trafficking over RM340mil of drugs in Johor

JOHOR BARU: Five individuals - including a pair of siblings - have been charged at the Magistrate s Court here with trafficking drugs amounting to more than RM340mil.
The accused, Goh Chee Kuang, 44, Lee Chia Hui, 33, Lye Chang Pung, 39, Lye Chang Lim, 35 and Bally Paw Shaw Kiat, 38, face 18 charges between them.
They were charged with trafficking various drugs including ketamine and methamphetamine between 102grams and 210kg.
All accused allegedly committed the offences at various locations including Taman Mount Austin, Taman Baiduri and Taman Setia Indah between Jan 9 and Jan 15.
The charges against them were read out in Mandarin in front of Magistrate Nurmardiana Mamat here on Tuesday (Jan 26). ....

Cops score major drug haul

JOHOR BARU: He is unemployed, yet this 34-year-old man owns several luxurious cars, including a flashy black Lamborghini worth RM960,000.
Tracking down the man and his accomplice, Johor police scored a major drug haul of over RM201mil in narcotics, the biggest in Malaysia in less than three weeks into the new year.
Overall, the total value of seizure came up to a staggering RM341mil.
State police chief Comm Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said the first suspect was arrested in Taman Mount Austin here at around 5.20pm on Thursday.
“He is unemployed, yet he is able to own several luxurious cars, ” he told reporters at the Johor police headquarters here yesterday. ....

JOHOR BAHRU: Johor police made the biggest drug seizure in the history of the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) when they seized drugs worth RM201 million in three raids around this city on Jan 14 and 15.
Johor police chief Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said the bust followed investigations into 14 suspects of a drug smuggling and distribution syndicate who were caught here on Jan 12.
He said, in the February 12 operation, the NCID had uncovered two drug processing laboratories and two stores where drugs worth RM125.8 million were kept.

“Interrogation of the suspects led police to raid the three other locations which were used to store drugs namely a factory in Taman Mount Austin and two rented houses in Taman Setia Indah. ....
