MUMBAI: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) S-ward recently wrote a letter to the Powai police asking to quash the first information report (FIR) that they have registered against a 30-year-old homemaker and her two children a 13-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter for allegedly fleeing from the institutional quarantine that they were placed at Hill Grange building in Hiranandani Gardens on March 10.
The case was registered the next day when the officials found out that the three Meena Gupta, her son Sumit and daughter Arpita has been missing from the list of 60 people who were placed under quarantine in the building. The officials also got the homemaker treated for the ankle twist she suffered after she jumped a six-foot wall at the quarantine centre while fleeing with her kids. ....

MUMBAI: In a surprise inspection conducted by Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar and deputy mayor Suhas Wadkar on Wednesday amidst the rising Covid-19 cases, it was found that four international travellers who were to quarantine themselves in a hotel at Santacruz had fled instead. Currently passengers coming from the UK, Europe, Middle East and South Africa have to undergo seven days of institutional quarantine.
Taking serious cognizance of the fleeing of passengers the mayor then directed that action be immediately initiated against the hotel authorities and the four travellers as well. The mayor said that the Covid-19 case scenario in several countries is worrisome and if travellers are acting in such a manner and not cooperating with the BMC then she would have to discuss the same with the municipal commissioner. ....

Tasmania Police said the woman left hotel quarantine at the Ibis Hotel in Hobart in a taxi last night.

A Victorian mother has been fined $774 for breaching hotel quarantine in Tasmania.
Tasmania Police said the woman had travelled to Hobart from Victoria with her young child yesterday before leaving the Ibis Hotel at 6:20pm in a taxi.
The pair were returned to the quarantine hotel in Hobart s CBD by police at 7:40pm.
Contact tracers from Tasmania s Public Health Service are now working to identify any other movements or contacts during the time they were out of quarantine. ....
