2023: Kwankwaso meets Kano PDP, Kwankwasiyya leaders

Daily Trust reports that the meeting is the first, after the crisis that engulfed the state’s chapter of the party at the zonal congress of the PDP in Kaduna which pitched supporters of Kwankwaso against the supporters of the Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal, who is said to be supporting the Aminu Wali faction in the state.
It is also coming after reports of an internal rift in the camp of the Kwankwasiyya movement emerged after a stalwart of the movement, Dr Yunusa Adamu Dangwani, was accused of trying to disunite the movement because of his alleged ambition against Abba Kabir Yusuf, the governorship candidate of PDP in the 2019 poll. ....

Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, former governor of Kano state and leader of the Kawankwasiyya political movement, shocked millions of his supporters on Monday night when in a no bar declaration said he has not anointed any candidate for the 2023 gubernatorial race in Kano.
Kwankwaso’s latest stand was a subtle vote against the 2019 gubernatorial candidate, Abba Kabir Yusuf who had grown in strength and political stamina over the past few years in Kano.
The leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement in unmistakable terms at a stakeholders meeting held at his palatial mansion declared “The party (PDP) and the Kwankwasiyya movement are yet to decide on its flag bearer for the 2023 gubernatorial race in Kano”. ....
