DURBAN - The South African Defence Force (SANDF) and South African Police Service (SAPS) have arrested suspects, seized goods and impounded vehicles while conducting operations along the eSwatini and Mozambique borders.
Earlier this month the SANDF and SAPS recovered contraband with an estimated value of R800 000. According to the SANDF, the incident took place after a stop and search was conducted by soldiers deployed on the South African/Mozambique border.
“Two suspects in possession of illicit goods were arrested and taken to Emanguzi SAPS and the vehicle was impounded,” the SANDF said. ....

Military troops of Operation Lafiya Dole have arrested a suspected Boko Haram informant who has spying on the activities of the armed forces in Yobe State.
It was gathered that the spying activities of the suspect and his accomplices led to several attacks on the troop positioned at Kamuya area of the state.
This development was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Sunday by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier-General Mohammed Yerima.
According to Gen Yerima, the informant who was identified as Modu Ari was apprehended by troops of 27 Task Force Bridge. ....

Troops arrest Boko Haram informant, tighten security in Yobe

He said the activities of the suspect and his accomplices were responsible for the recent attacks on troops position by terrorists in the area.
Yerima said the suspect confessed during interrogation to have revealed troops’ movements and position to his Boko Haram collaborators.
According to him, the investigation is ongoing to unravel the network of local informants whose nefarious activities have endangered troops on clearance operations around the fringes of Timbuktu Triangle.
He said the unfortunate sabotage of troops movement by Ari and his accomplices made it possible for the terrorists to attack the rear element of troops on patrol. ....
