With cold winter weather on the horizon and ever-changing local COVID-19 rules limiting indoor dining, Wendy and Rich Tucciarone began worrying about the fate of their Steamboat Springs, Colorado, craft brewery and restaurant last fall.
In the summer, it was easy to spread out the tables on Mountain Tap Brewery s large patio and prop open the building s garage doors. But even with heaters and firepits, the patio would be a tough sell during the icy evening temperatures and frequent snowstorms in this Colorado ski town famous for its champagne powder. ....

'Enough is enough': Moe calls for stricter enforcement of public health orders

Premier Scott Moe (Lisa Schick/980 CJME)
Premier Scott Moe is ready to bar the doors of establishments that are ignoring public health orders aimed at limiting the spread of COVID-19.

“I don’t believe we need new measures put in place to bend the COVID curve here in Saskatchewan,” Moe replied. “What we need is everyone to follow the measures that are in place — and enough is enough. It’s time for us to start enforcing (penalties against) those that are not following those measures.” ....

Saskatchewan’s Premier expects the province to run out of vaccines in the next few days.
Scott Moe says he heard in a news story that the federal government announced there would be no Pfizer shipments next week instead of hearing it from the feds.
Saskatchewan Health Authority CEO Scott Livingstone says the available doses will be distributed for both new vaccinations and second doses.
The lengthened acceptable time period between shots at 42 days mitigates some of the challenge around the shortage, Armstrong says, and Pfizer has promised to increase shipments once it’s back online. ....
