Every year after the draft, I write a way-too-long review of each team’s draft. The purpose of this draft review is to give predictions for the careers of each team’s drafted players. The vast majority of 4th-7th round picks don t amount to much, so I stick to the first three rounds. I’ve watched films of each player I’m commenting on and have over seven years of NCAA coaching experience. Draft grades are overly optimistic and unrealistic. Unlike the majority of post-draft coverage out there, I will pick busts. Keep in mind that 19% of all first-round picks bust.
Hartford native Quinn Meinerz becomes highest drafted player from UW-Whitewater, selected 98th overall by Denver Broncos
MILWAUKEE (CBS-58) - Quinn Meinerz went from undrafted to free agent to top 100 pick in a matter of months.
As the third round drew to a close, Meinerz was selected 98th overall by the Denver Broncos. He is the first Warhawk plaer taken in the draft since 2007 and is the highest selection in program history passing Vilnis Ezerins, who was taken with the 112th pick in the eighth round in the 1966 draft by the Los Angeles Rams according to a release from the school.
