“The Youngs Mountain Trail is Conserving Carolina’s most spectacular trail project yet, and it will serve as a crown jewel segment of the budding Hickory Nut Gorge State Trail network, Trails Specialist Peter Barr said. Its overhanging rocks and dramatic cliff ledges offer stunning vistas of the surrounding mountains, including Buffalo Creek Park and Chimney Rock State Park. With the opening of the Youngs Mountain Trail, this breathtaking landscape is one step closer to being linked together by the Hickory Nut Gorge State Trail.”
The trail passes through 437 acres of forever-protected land that provides a haven for biodiversity, including numerous rare or endangered plants and animals. The mountain is home to bear, deer, bobcats, turkeys, and many other kinds of wildlife. The lower part of the trail crosses several beautiful brooks while the top of the trail passes over sheer rock with a lush community of mosses and lichens. ....

Bitterroot National Forest Has Trail Plans
The Bitterroot National Forest is accepting public comments on two trail projects they have planned on the Darby Ranger District. The C. Ben White Trail will be about one and a quarter mile long in the upper Hart Bench area. It is designed as a non-motorized trail for hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking. The trail will tie into a network of trails that already exist in the area. Tod McKay of the Bitterroot National Forest said it is also next to a newly acquired Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks area that includes a fishing access site and a trailhead. ....

HAMILTON â The Bitterroot National Forest is inviting the public to review and make comments on two new proposed trail projects located on the Darby Ranger District.
The non-motorized C. Ben White Trail is a 1Â¼ mile dirt trail that will provide hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking opportunities for recreationalists. It will access a network of trails in the upper Hart Bench area. The trail is adjacent to a newly acquired piece of Montana FWP land that includes a fishing access site and developed trailhead. ....
