The Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr Andreas Korjo Mifetu, the Ada District Police Commander, has called on the public to report illegal activities by strangers and migrants to the police. This, he said, would help to curb the menace of criminal activities in the country. He was speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency after the Ada Police Command arrested nine illegal Nigerian migrants at Ada Foah Clinic Junction on Sunday, April 17, 2021. He said the police gathered intelligence that a boat was ferrying some Nigerians who were believed to be jailbreakers who got their way into Ghana through illegal means from Anyanui in the Volta Region to Ada Foah in the Greater Accra Region. ....
Nine others in critical condition are on admission at Akuse Seven(7) passengers have been confirmed dead in a gory accident which occurred on new year eve on the Kpong stretch of the Akosombo-Tema motorway in the Eastern region. Nine (9) others in critical condition are on admission at Akuse and St. Martins de Porres Hospital. Five have been referred. The accident occurred when a speeding Sprinter Bus with registration Number GN 8209- 15 carrying 16 passengers rammed into a faulty stationary Tipper Truck with registration GN 2064 -14 at the Kpong portion of the Akosombo to Tema motorway. Seven passengers died on the spot while the rest sustained life-threatening injuries. ....
The Accra Juvenile Court “C” has remanded a Junior High School (JHS) final year pupil of the Nungua Kroma Two JHS, for allegedly assaulting a teacher who punished him for failure to do his homework. He has denied conspiring with 15 other men to assault the teacher and has been remanded into Police custody, his plea was not taken by the court. The court ordered the suspect to make his next appearance on March 18, 2021, whiles efforts were underway to apprehend his accomplices. The prosecution told the Court that the accused (name withheld) refused to do his homework and after he was punished for that, he dashed home to call 15 other young men who allegedly stormed the school in a Sprinter Bus and attacked the teacher, inflicting wounds on his face. ....
