GUWAHATI: Noted intellectual and Gauhati University (GU) professor Nani Gopal Mahanta has said that voting in election is not the only essence of democracy. He said for survival of democracy, enjoyment of social, economic and political justice are equally important.
Mahanta was delivering the first Prof. Arun Chandra Das Memorial Annual Lecture organised by political science department of Dakshin Kamrup College, Mirza on Electoral Politics and Indian Democracy recently.
