As Indian American professors at San José State University, who have given the best of ourselves to the United States, we implore you to take seriously what is happening in India. Our Indian American personas and Indian hearts reel in shock, eyes sting with tears and our feelings lie in tatters as we bear witness, helplessly from afar, to our families rising death and sickness tolls. In material evidence of a new rock bottom, our aging parents now urge us not to come should the worst happen and if they succumb to the dreadful triple mutant known as B.1.167. ....

A group of 22 faculty members have made SJSU history as the inaugural cohort of the
Public Voices Fellows program. Public Voices is an exciting new professional development
opportunity launched by the Office of the Provost, the Center for Faculty Development,
and the OpEd Project, which aims to amplify expert voices that have been underrepresented in efforts to
address today’s most pressing issues. Fellows learned what makes an idea contagious
in the public sphere, how to frame ideas in ways that will have public impact, and
strategies for influencing discourse on a broad scale. ....

A USU student has started a children's series and hopes to inspire others with his stories

A Boy and His Elephant is the first in a new series of children’s books written by Ethan Watson, a Cache Valley native and Utah State University student. The book aims to answer some of life’s greatest questions in the most simple and sincere ways. 
During the summer of 2020, Watson realized that his calendar was looking fairly empty. This freed up time, due to COVID-19, allowed him to explore and prompted the idea for A Boy and His Elephant. 
Watson believes that during the uncertainty of COVID-19, there are difficult questions that need to be addressed. He answered those questions in the simplest way he knew how; with a children’s book. ....

Actress and entrepreneur, Ernestine Johnson Morrison founded several businesses including Green Lit ATL and The Legacy Center. Green Lit ATL is the premiere film industry event where creators are able to show off their work and network amongst the industry. The Legacy Center, also known as “The Blackhouse” is a co-working and educational center to help broaden the horizon for young Black entrepreneurs and elevate their businesses. She, along with her husband, Jay Morrison, also founded the Tulsa Real Estate Fund.
Jarrett Adams
Jarrett Adams spent ten years in prison for a crime he did not commit. Adams was wrongfully convicted of sexual assault at age 17. He was then sentenced to 28 years in prison at a maximum-security prison. After filing numerous appeals, Adams was exonerated with the assistance of the Wisconsin Innocence Project.
