Freedom, accountability most crucial to media’s advancement: Hasan BSS 14th February, 2021 08:52:37 Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said on Sunday freedom and accountability both are the most crucial in the advancement of mass media. “Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had formed the Press Council aiming to ensure independence of the mass media, so that, media can act properly as the mirror of the society,” he said, addressing a discussion at Press Council auditorium in the city. The minister said the press council was formed so that media can refrain itself from publishing false and untrue information. 14th International Children’s Film Festival to commence from January 30 Arts & Entertainment Desk Arts & Entertainment Desk The 14th edition of the International Children s Film Festival, organised by Children s Film Society Bangladesh, will commence from January 30. The six-day will be held across three venues where contributors from 37 countries will participate. A total of 179 films have been shortlisted from the submissions to be screened. The programme will be inaugurated by Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud. The opening ceremony, presided over by eminent filmmaker Morshedul Islam who is also the founder of Children s Film Society Bangladesh, will be held at Shawkat Osman Auditorium of Sufia Kamal National Public Library at 4 pm on January 30. ....
Bangladesh to become ‘Sonar Bangla’ by 2041 under PM’s leadership: Hasan 279 today said Bangladesh would be built as ‘Sonar Bangla’ by 2041 under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. “With joint efforts of the country’s people, it is expected that Bangladesh will become ‘Sonar Bangla’, as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, under the leadership of his daughter Sheikh Hasina by 2041,” he said.
